David Bitton Cafe - Alexandria

36-37a Copeland Street Alexandria

The surrounds
David Bitton Cafe is located just across the road from Erskinville Oval on Swanson Street.
With such close proximity to the oval, David Bitton is super dog friendly making it the ideal spot for both you and your furry friend to enjoy a relaxing culinary break.
If you prefer, you can still take in the scenery from the high bench just inside or forget the passers-by all together in the private courtyard.
The vibe is casual, but make no mistake, the staff are extremely passionate about food, great service and the whole experience feels very premium.

The menu
I chose the free-range eggs at $14 and added two sides, the free-range ham and mushrooms at $6 each. Everything was amazing!
The French-influenced menu is thanks to David Bitton, the Frenchman who established the cafe in 2001.

Ethical options

Lunch menu - the chicken ballotine is free-range, and the croque monsieur is also on this menu.
Dinner menu - There is no mention of free-range (however the crock monsieur is available) but I will make an enquiry and update this post.
